We are currently looking for part-time and ad hoc workshop assistants to join our growing team.
What we are looking for...

Energetic, inspiring and enthusiastic individuals, preferably with experience in teaching drama/acting.

Actors or graduates/students with formal acting training who are looking for a rewarding way to utilise their skills and earn an extra income.

Native or Fluent English speakers.

Barcelona based - our workshops take place in Barcelona, Sitges and Castelldefels, applicants must be able to easily commute.

Available for evenings and some Saturdays.

Available to start in Feb/March 2023.

With the possibility of extra Saturdays, Sunday Sessions, Show Days and holiday workshops.
Hourly Rate:
Starting rate: 12€ p/hour
with the opportunity to increase as responsibilities increase

At Creation Drama Studio, we pride ourselves on making sure our workshop leaders and assistants are industry professionals who are actively working within the industry and bringing their expertise to the classes.
This is why we want to be able support our staff as much as possible when it comes to castings and professional jobs.
Wherever possible we do our best to cover our staff when they need to attend important castings and professional acting jobs within reason.
Opportunities:
As well as running our workshops we are also passionate film and theatre makers. Whenever we embark on a new creative project we give our staff the opportunity to be a part of it. As well as running our business we are striving to create a community of like-minded creatives. Our aim is to provide our staff with continual opportunities to professionally develop to the benefit of both the school and themselves.
Duties:
- Running warm up games and exercises
- Assisting workshop leaders

Teaching acting and performance skills, such as voice and movement, to students aged 3-18 years

Acting as a role model for students

Using your initiative to ensure students are always kept engaged and busy

Imparting your own knowledge and experience throughout the classes to ensure students continue to learn and develop

Welcoming students

Building rapport with students
-
Supporting students in their individual development

Noticing when students need help or extra support
-
Effectively and calmly dealing with students who are being disruptive

Communicate and consult with the parents of students, as directed by the owners.
Experience:
-
Potential candidates must have;
-
A minimum of 2 years professional industry experience as a working actor either in theatre, on screen or both
-
and/or 2 years formal acting training or currently undergoing formal, vocational acting training
-

Previous teaching experience is preferred, particularly experience in working with young people

Experience in various acting techniques

Good knowledge of acting practitioners/ methods and how to apply them
Skills:
- Native or fluent level of English

Great communication skills

A good team player, friendly and personable with the ability to collaborate well with others

High level of empathy and patience
-
Good organisation skills
-
Quick leaner, open to new ideas/concepts, with the ability to quickly learn and deliver our philosophy of teaching and positive reinforcement

Ability to work unsupervised and quickly think on their feet

Good knowledge of Child Safeguarding is preferred but can be delivered in training
General:
- Located within easy commuting distance from the workshop locations; Barcelona, Sitges and Castelldefels

Ability to work flexibly if needed

Freelancers/autónomos preferred but the company can offer contracts if the right candidate is found

All staff must be criminal record checked within Spain and if applicable from previous countries they have lived in
