ABOUT US

CREATION DRAMA STUDIO was founded in January 2015 by Sarah Tyler Shaw & Ian Breeds under the name Q-E Kids Drama Workshops.

Sarah is a professional actor whilst Ian is an actor, writer and director.

Ian and Sarah met whilst studying at drama school in Hoxton, London. Upon graduating in 2011 the pair founded their own theatre company QUINT-ESSENTIAL CREATIONS.

After 3 successful years of producing and touring original plays written and directed by Ian, they decided to take the company in a new direction, film.

In 2014 Ian received a scholarship to study filmmaking at afilm International Film Workshops in Sitges, Barcelona.

The couple relocated to Sitges in October 2014.

Upon arriving in Sitges it soon became clear that even though there was strong international presence in the town, there were not many after school activities in English, in particular drama classes for children.

WHAT WE SAY

"QUOTE"

Our goal was to open a drama school where children would be able to discover themselves through acting, learn to be confident and most importantly have fun whilst they were doing it. Not only that we wanted to be original as well. Using the skills we had learnt as actors and child care workers we wanted our school to not only teach the skills and techniques of acting but to also help shape the students in a positive way for their journey through life, we would do this through encouragement, positivity and exploring emotions in exercises.

SARAH TYLER SHAW

WORKSHOP FOUNDER

Before moving to Spain, between acting and running Quint-Essential Creations, both Ian and Sarah worked for NIPPERBOUT Ltd, a mobile creche company based in the UK. Having gained a lot of valuable experience working at Nipperbout, they decided to combine their childcare knowledge with their passion for acting and in January 2015 they ran their first Saturday morning drama workshops in Sitges.

Since then they have helped more than 700 students to develop their creativity and build their confidence through acting and filmmaking. Their graduates have gone on to secure places at some of the top universities and drama schools in the UK and many of their students have been cast in professional projects including short films, feature films, music videos and voice over projects

Whenever Ian and Sarah aren't teaching or working on the business, they spend their free time creating projects of their own. Later this year they have plans to produce a play and to shoot a feature film.

Ian and Sarah currently live in Sitges with their dog Tallulah. In May 2018 they were married at the iconic Iglesia de San Bartolomé y Santa Tecla in Sitges and in May 2021 they opened their very own drama studio in Sitges. It is safe to say that Sitges is a very special place for them and a place that they will always call home.
